  • Chelsea edged Manchester United in a seven-goal thriller
  • Cole Palmer's two late goals won it 4-3 for the home side
  • Casemiro drew the ire of United fans with his performance

Manchester United are picking on everything possible after their 4-3 loss to Chelsea yesterday, and midfielder Casemiro is one of the targets of their frustration.

Chelsea raced into an early 2-0 lead within 20 minutes thanks to goals from captain Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer's penalty after Antony fouled Cucurella in the box.

United fought back and went into half-time at 2-2 after Argentine youngster, Alejandro Garnacho, and captain Bruno Fernandes scored a goal each.

Garnacho scored his second in the second half, but two late goals from Palmer, including a deflected strike off Scott McTominay, turned United's elation into despair.

Man United fans blast Casemiro

A clip is going viral on social media of the former Real Madrid midfielder watching as striker Nicolas Jackson strolls past him on a counter-attack, instead of making an effort to stop him.

The fans were understandably annoyed and urged him to either announce his retirement or leave the club and join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.

@HarveyUTD_ replied:

“Yet people slate Rashford 24/7 for stuff like this hmmm”

@_Nosa_ replied:

“Hate it had to be my guy, but his legs are completely gone. Send him straight to Saudi to join Voldemort”

The fans can rest easy, as the Brazilian midfielder will likely be on his way out this summer in Sir Jim Ratcliffe's first transfer window. According to The Guardian, the British billionaire criticised the signing during his visit to Old Trafford.

Seven players Man United could sell

Sports Brief previously analysed seven players Man United could sell to raise funds and revamp the squad in Ratcliffe's first window since buying a minority stake in the club.

Academy graduate Marcus Rashford surprisingly tops the list, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly willing to offer the Red Devils £70 million to sign him to replace Kylian Mbappe.
