Cole Palmer's penalties in 2023/24 EPL season

Half of Palmer's goals this season have come via spot kicks. Here are the eight penalties he has scored for Chelsea in the 2023-24 Premier League campaign:

1. Burnley vs. Chelsea (1 penalty, October 2023)

Palmer opened his penalty account in the game against Burnley on October 7, 2023, scoring a spot kick in the 50th minute.

It was a memorable strike for the 21-year-old, who scored his first goal for Chelsea since joining from Manchester City. He was awarded the penalty after Vitinho fouled Raheem Sterling inside the box, per The Standard.

That goal made it 2-0 for the Blues, who went on to win 4-1 on the road.

2. Chelsea vs. Arsenal (1 penalty, October 2023)

Palmer recorded his second penalty goal for the Blues in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal on October 21, 2023.

He opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 15th minute, netting a spot kick after William Saliba was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box by the VAR.

The Blues were denied the victory in this contest after conceding two late goals.

3. Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea (1 penalty, November 2023)

Palmer recorded his third penalty goal for Chelsea in their 4-1 win over Tottenham on November 6, 2023.

The match swung in the Blues' favour in the 33rd minute when Cristian Romero was sent off for a crude challenge on Enzo Fernandez inside the box.

Palmer scored the ensuing penalty to tie the match at 1-1. The Blues scored three more goals after that as they recorded an important away win against the Spurs.

4. Chelsea vs. Manchester City (1 penalty, November 2023)

Palmer earned Chelsea a valuable point in their game against Man City on November 12, 2023, scoring a penalty deep into second-half stoppage time to salvage a 4-4 draw in their showdown at Stamford Bridge.

He was awarded the penalty against his former club after Ruben Dias was adjudged to have fouled substitute, Armando Broja, inside the box.

5. Chelsea vs. Fulham (1 penalty, December 2023)

Palmer led Chelsea to victory in their match against Fulham on January 13, 2024, scoring the game's lone goal from the penalty spot in first-half injury time.

He was awarded the penalty after Raheem Sterling was fouled inside the box. He sent Fulham goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, the wrong way to give the Blues the lead they would never relinquish.

6. Chelsea vs. Burnley (1 penalty, March 2024)

Palmer recorded his sixth penalty goal of the season in their 2-2 draw against Burnley on March 30, 2024.

He opened the scoring for Chelsea in style in the 44th minute, netting a Panenka penalty after Lorenz Assignon was sent off for fouling Mykhailo Mudryk inside the box.

7. Chelsea vs. Manchester United (2 penalties, April 2024)

Palmer starred for Chelsea in their win over Manchester United on Thursday, scoring a hat-trick in the come-from-behind 4-3 victory.

Two of his goals came from the penalty spot. The first spot kick was scored in the 19th minute after Antony was adjudged to have fouled Marc Cucurella inside the box.

His second spot kick was pressure-packed as it came in the 10th minute of added time in the second half. He buried the penalty to tie the match at 3-3. Seconds later, he scored the match-winner for the Blues.

Palmer nears Yaya Toure's record

Yaya Toure holds the record for most penalties scored without a miss in the Premier League, making all 11 of his spot kicks in the English top flight, per Opta.

Only Toure and Dimitar Berbatov have taken more penalties in the English top flight while making all of them. The Chelsea star is a perfect 8-for-8 with his spot kicks in the Premier League.

Palmer brags about his penalty record

Sports Brief recently reported on Palmer's reaction to his late heroics against Manchester United.

He bragged about his spot kick record after the match, saying he was not going to miss a penalty.

Chelsea moved up to 10th with their win over United while the Red Devils have remained sixth.
