Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez might be approaching the tail-end of their careers, but from the foregoing, their legacies might be continued through their sons.

Thiago Messi and Benjamin Suarez combined to win a trophy for Inter Miami during the Easter festivities in Florida.

Thiago was on target in the Easter International Cup organised by Rayados de Monterrey Cup, where he chipped over the goalkeeper, reminiscent of the goal his father scored against Manuel Neuer after sitting down Jerome Boateng in the Champions League.

The competition was organised for children aged between 10 and 19 and took place over four days, with Thiago taking part in the U-13 category, as reported by BeIN Sports.

Suarez's son recently joined the team after his father ditched Brazilian club Gremio to link up with Messi and his former Barcelona teammates in Miami.

Messi and Suarez enjoy a beautiful relationship on and off the pitch, with the latter having supplied most of the Argentine's goals, as reported by Sports Brief.

This is the second competition that Thiago has won after winning the Weston Cup a month ago - a game which Messi attended.

The senior Inter Miami squad are back in action on April 4 when they take on Monterrey FC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-finals at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Will Lionel Messi be available vs Monterrey?

Tata Martino's side have lost two of their last games without Messi. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner picked up a muscle issue against Nashville on March 14.

While addressing the media ahead of the game, Martino admitted that they were yet to make a decision on the degree of involvement of the former Barcelona captain.

Sports Brief reported that Messi was spotted in training which will be a timely boost for the Herons as they seek to make it to the semi-finals of the competition.
