  • Jose Peseiro and Pitso Mosimane are among the names being linked with Kaizer Chief's coaching role
  • The Premier Soccer League side have been without a permanent coach since Molefi Ntseki's departure
  • The Glamour Boys are currently having a poor run of form under their interim manager, Cavin Johnson

Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with several top coaches as they search for a permanent replacement for Molefi Ntseki, who parted ways with the club late last year.

Cavin Johnson has since mentored the Premier Soccer League on an interim basis but has failed to live up to expectations.

The Glamour Boys lost their last match in the league against Stellenbosch FC and have only one win in their last games across all competitions.

Sports Brief has highlighted the managers linked with Amakhosi's coaching role.

Five coaches linked with Kaizer Chiefs' job

1. Jose Peseiro

The former Nigerian national team coach is one of the top managers linked with a vacant coaching role at Kaizer Chiefs.

The Portuguese gaffer is presently without a job after deciding to leave Super Eagles after his contract ended after the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

2. Pitso Mosimane

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has been a top choice for the Glamour Boys since the departure of Ntseki, but the South African tactician opted for a return to Saudi Arabia.

The 59-year-old is still a top target for Amakhosi, but they would have to prise him away from Abha Club. This could change if the team is relegated from the Saudi Pro League.

3. Nasreddine Nabi

The former Yanga SC coach is also one of the coaches linked with the permanent coaching role at Naturena.

According to a report by GOAL, the Tunisian manager disclosed why he didn't join the PSL side last year.

4. Raul Caneda

The former Bafana Bafana boss was one of the options Chiefs were looking at as their next permanent manager.

The Spaniard has coaching experience in four countries: Spain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

5. Benni McCarthy

The former FC Porto striker has experience working in the PSL, as he was previously the coach of Cape Town City and AmaZulu FC.

After doing a fantastic job with Manchester United forwards since joining under Erik ten Hag, the South African coach has been tipped for a PSL return, with Chiefs being his possible destination.

Johnson furious after Stellenbosch Loss

Sports Brief earlier reported on Cavin Johnson expressing dissatisfaction with Chiefs after their 1-0 loss against Stellenbosch FC.

In the DStv Premiership game, Devin Titus netted the solitary goal in first-half stoppage time, extending Stellies' unbeaten streak.
