  • Issahaku joined Leicester on loan from Sporting Lisbon last summer

Ghanaian winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, flew his mother to England to watch him play for the first time in the Championship for Leicester City.

The 20-year-old forward starred as the Foxes recovered from a goal down to beat Norwich City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

The former Ghana U20 star saw 88 minutes of action before he was replaced by James Justin.

In a video shared on social media, the mother of the Ghanaian footballer is seen chanting his name along with the Leicester City fans after an impressive display against The Canneries.

Issahaku, currently on loan from Sporting Lisbon, has been in fine form for the promotion chasers, scoring ten goals and providing three assists in 33 matches.

The former Premier League champions have the option of making Isshaku's loan move a permanent deal at the end of the season.

The 2020 AFCON U20 best player moved to Europe in 2021 to join Sporting Lisbon but struggled for consistent game time despite making a couple of appearances in the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League.

Issahku features in Ghana's draw with Uganda

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku returned to the Black Stars for the international friendly against Uganda in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The Leicester City winger started as Ghana were held to a 2-2 draw by a stubborn Uganda team.

Goals from Jerome Opoku and Jordan Ayew were cancelled by Steven Mukwala and Shaban Muhammad.

Issahaku and Iheanacho spotted dancing

Sports Brief also reported that Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Issahaku were spotted performing the popular Coup du Marteauu dance inside the Leicester City bus.

Iheanacho was part of the Nigerian squad that finished second at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, while Fatawu turned down the chance to represent Ghana at the competition to focus on club football.

The Super Eagles star was not a major member of Jose Peseiro's team at the competition, but he made his mark by scoring the last penalty that took Nigeria to the final against South Africa in the semi-final.
