The 27-year-old has produced impressive performances throughout the season, eliciting rumours that he could be ready to join the big boys.

Van Rooyen has been a regular on Steve Barker’s side, and they are having a terrific season. They clinched their first-ever trophy when they won the Carling Knockout Cup.

He has made 17 appearances in the DStv Premiership this season, helping his team to second in the table after 20 matches.

Speaking to iDiski Times, Van Rooyen made it crystal clear that he is happy at Stellenbosch.

“At the moment, I’m happy where I am,” he said. “But whatever comes maybe, I don’t know, after the season, we will see. But for now, I’m very happy here.”

Playing with his cousin, Ashley Du Preez, at Chiefs is an exciting idea he could explore at some point this year.

Adams to leave Stellenbosch?

The Stellenbosch FC star was also part of the South African squad that took bronze at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Barker said the time for Adamas to leave the club is yet to come but is open to losing him later in the year.
