In the latest transfer buzz, TS Galaxy midfielder, Thato Khiba, has become the centre of attention, with reports linking him to the two Soweto giants.

Currently ninth in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Galaxy have caught the eye of football fans through Khiba's standout performances.

The 27-year-old, who joined the club in July 2023 after his release from Marumo Gallants, has been a critical player for the Mpumalanga-based outfit, appearing in 14 games across all competitions this season.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that while both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have expressed interest in acquiring Khiba's services, Despite the speculation, there's uncertainty regarding Galaxy's willingness to part ways with the gifted midfielder, as reported by Far Post.

Khiba's journey in football has seen him represent various teams, including the Chiefs Reserve side, Uthongathi FC, and African All Stars. His versatility and skill on the field have not gone unnoticed, with notable contributions of two goals and one assist for the team this campaign.

Chiefs and Pirates sign players

The transfer rumours surrounding him come amidst recent developments in the Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates squads. Chiefs, under the leadership of sporting director Kaizer Mouaung Jr, secured fresh deals for three players, including midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen. Additionally, they've bolstered their attack by signing promising talent Kamogelo Malefo.

Meanwhile, Pirates have been active in the transfer market, bringing in players like former Chippa United winger Thabiso Lebitso, Thalenthe Mbatha, and Tshegofatso Mabasa, as they sought to strengthen their squad, as reported by SuperSport.

Pirates edge Chiefs in Soweto derby thriller

Sports Brief reported that Orlando Pirates came from behind twice to defeat Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 in the most exciting Soweto derby for several seasons.

Both clubs shrugged off poor general form in the South African Premiership to entertain an 86,764 crowd, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg.

The victory gave the Buccaneers a first same-season double over the Glamour Boys since 2008.
