  • Fans believe that the Super Eagles striker should leave before his value drops

Should Victor Osimhen leave Napoli before his value continues to drop?

Or should he leave the club in order to save them from collapsing further?

Those are two of the differing views of fans who reacted to the Nigerian striker’s performance against Atalanta.

Osimhen drew a blank in the Serie A encounter, as Napoli were well beaten.

Football Italia noted that Atalanta ran out 3-0 winners at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, leaving Napoli’s European hopes in jeopardy.

Osimhen the focus of attention from fans

While Napoli supporters booed their team’s performance, social media instead focused on Osimhen and his lacklustre finishing.

The Nigerian had a poor day at the office, failing to threaten the opposition's goal. He also picked up a yellow card, adding to his woes.

Osimhen is finished, say fans

Following his performance, fans weighed in on the Super Eagles striker’s recent form.

Some argued that he was bringing the club down, while others argued that his value was dropping because of the club’s poor performance.

@Ziyechman:

“Napoli don't deserve Victor Osimhen, it's time for him to upgrade.”

@chelseagenes:

“Chelsea need to save Osimhen from the shackles of that small club Napoli, ASAP.”

@MrOdanz:

“It is so easy to mark Osimhen out of games.”

@ArseLegend:

“Osimhen accepts to play for Chelsea, now Napoli can't win a game anymore 😂😂.”

@TonyAFC_:

“Would you still want your club to take Victor Osimhen after this hall of shame disaster class?”

Chelsea favourites for Osimhen’s signature

Sports Brief previously reported Chelsea were one of the favourites to sign Napoli’s Osimhen.

Arsenal and Manchester United were also linked with a move for him but have been ruled out of the running.

New reports now indicate that Paris Saint-Germain and the Blues are capable of paying his hefty price tag.
