  • Luca Marchetti believes Victor Osimhen is destined for a top club
  • The Italian football pundit believes only Chelsea and PSG can afford the Nigerian
  • Osimhen has been tipped to leave Napoli at the end of the season

Arsenal and Manchester United have been ruled out as the possible destination for Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as speculations continue to surround his future.

The 25-year-old Napoli forward is one of the most sought-after strikers in the summer transfer market with top Premier League clubs and Paris Saint-Germain strongly linked with an interest for the Nigerian.

According to Complete Sports, Italian football pundit Luca Marchetti has disclosed that only Chelsea and PSG are capable of paying Osimhen due to the Super Eagles striker’s hefty price tag.

“I believe that today Osimhen could be worth around €100 million; few teams can afford him but these teams might need a striker. I’m talking about Chelsea, PSG and there could be some other surprise team.”

Napoli has set a high release clause ranging from €120 million to €130 million for Osimhen, making it difficult for many interested clubs to afford the player.

Arsenal open talks for Osimhen

Meanwhile, Arsenal has taken proactive steps by initiating talks with Napoli for the possible deal to sign top striker Osimhen in the summer transfer window, Just Arsenal reports.

However, it remains uncertain whether the Gunners will meet Napoli’s release clause of €130 million for the 25-year-old attacker or seek to negotiate the fee as they hope to wrap the deal for the Nigerian forward.

Napoli anticipates Osimhen’s departure at the end of the season, and Arsenal will hope to beat rivals Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG to the signature of Serie A’s top scorer last season.

Napoli will struggle to replace Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Juventus forward, Fabrizio Ravanelli, has expressed worry over Napoli's ability to find Osimhen's replacement should he leave this summer.

Osimhen, a significant figure for the previous four years, has continually demonstrated his exceptional ability, scoring remarkable goals each season and setting various records.

Despite recently extending his contract with the reigning Serie A champions, rumours has emerged that the 25-year-old is considering leaving the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
