  • Victor Osimhen remains the subject of the transfer window as more clubs continue to trail him
  • Napoli are said to be willing to lower the player's price tag ahead of the summer transfer window
  • The Italian Serie A champions have been asking for around €130million for their most prized asset

Reigning Italian champions, Napoli, are said to be considering a reduction in the price tag of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.

The Partenopei are requesting for nothing less than €130million for their most prized asset, who has attracted interest from several clubs.

Osimhen is one of the most sought after strikers in the world, with English Premier League clubs jostling for his signature.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are making efforts to land the Nigerian international during the next transfer window.

It was gathered that United are preparing a €110million bid for the 25-year-old, while Arsenal and Chelsea offered €90million.

French club Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked with the former Lille striker.

Football Italia wrote in a statement via Punch:

“The Blues are interested in Napoli star Osimhen and they are ready to place a €90m bid at the end of the season.
"Arsenal and PSG are also interested in the Nigeria international and are willing to match the Blues’ offer."

Despite missing a large chunk of the 2023/24 season due to injuries and his involvement with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the striker still boasts 14-goal involvement for his club so far this season.

Zirkzee tipped as Osimhen's replacement

Sports Brief earlier reported that Joshua Zirkzee has been named as the perfect candidate to replace Victor Osimhen at Napoli, should the striker leave the reigning Italian champions at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Nigerian forward is presently on the shopping list of Europe’s elite clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, and is highly favoured to leave the reigning Italian champions.

Former AS Roma star, Davide Bombardini, has urged Napoli to sign Zirkzee when Osimhen is finally sold at the end of the season.
