  • The immediate future of Victor Osimhen is a huge topic of discussion
  • The Super Eagles star has been linked with a move away from Napoli
  • A Spurs legend has urged the marquee forward to switch to the EPL

Victor Osimhen may have faced criticism after Napoli's UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona, but this does not diminish the quality he brings as a forward.

The marquee forward, who was instrumental in the Partenopei clinching their first Serie A title in 33 years during the 2022-23 season, remains a target for several top European clubs.

Premier League clubs, Chelsea and Manchester United, alongside French Ligue 1 giant, Paris-Saint Germain, have been linked with a swoop for the 25-year-old, as they all aim to bolster their squad with the addition of a world-class centre forward.

However, amid the buzz Osimhen’s future continues to generate, a Tottenham Hotspur legend has urged the forward to make a switch to the Premier League.

Tottenham legend wants Osimhen’s Premier League transfer

In a post-match interview with TNT Sports, as captured by Eurosport, former Tottenham midfielder Glenn Hoddle urged the talismanic forward to consider a move to the Premier League, suggesting that he is perfectly suited for the high-octane style of play seen in England.

"He is a Premier League player, looking at him, his style as well. The league's style suits him, but he's got his hunger back. That's the main thing.
I think now he's back to his best. He's got the hunger and the movement. He wants to score goals. That's the big difference, the mindset," said the 66-year-old Hoddle."

Hoddle's words echo the sentiments of many football stakeholders who believe the Nigerian forward would thrive in the Premier League.

While a transfer away from Napoli seems increasingly likely with each passing day, it must be noted that the option of playing in the Champions League will be an enticing factor for Osimhen to consider when choosing his next destination.

Mikel makes claim on Osimhen

Sports Brief in another report stated former Nigeria midfielder, John Obi Mikel, hinted at the transfer destination of Osimhen.

Mikel emphasised his desire to see the Napoli forward join Chelsea, stating that he has been in discussions with Osimhen about the possibility of a move.
