Ghana U20 women's national team goalkeeper, Afi Amenyeku, has shared a memorable moment with her father after winning gold at the 2023 African Games.

The Northern Ladies shot-stopper played a pivotal role as the Black Princesses defeated arch-rivals Nigeria to win Gold at the 13th edition of the multi-sport competition.

Amenyeku returned home following her success with the U23 female team to celebrate with her family.

In a photo shared on social media, the young goalkeeper presented the medal to her father as she shared her pride in winning gold.

"One of the happiest men on earth right now. Owner of Amenyeku, having a feel of the gold medal. Will forever cherish this day. Alhamdulilah," she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The Black Princesses goalie and her teammates will resume camping in a few weeks as coach Yussif Basigi begins preparations for the Women's U20 FIFA World Cup in Colombia this year.

Meanwhile, Amenyeku is expected to return to her club as the Ghana Women's League continues this weekend.

This is the second title Amenyeku has won with the Black Princesses after starring at the WAFU Cup last year, as reported by Ghana Soccernet.

Black Princesses win gold at African Games

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Black Princesses have won gold at the African Games after beating Nigeria in the final at the Cape Coast stadium.

Despite going down to an early goal from the Super Falconets, the Black Princesses bounced back to secure an important victory.

Goals from Tracy Twums and Mukarama Abdulai gave Yussif Basigi's side the deserved win over the Nigerian ladies in the final.

Black Princesses hit Kudus' celebration

Sports Brief also reported that the Ghana U20 female team took inspiration from West Ham United star, Mohammed Kudus, as they defeated Senegal at the African Games.

The Black Princesses strolled to a 3-1 win at the Cape Coast stadium in the semi-final of the just-ended competition.

After opening the scoring against the Teranga Lionesses, Tracy Twum and her teammates hit the new Kudus celebration.
