Kate Abdo’s partner, Malik Scott, has opened up extensively for the first time about the controversy surrounding Jamie Carragher’s recent joke about his relationship.
Carragher caused a stir during coverage of Arsenal’s last 16 Champions League tie against Porto with an ‘out-of-pocket’ remark about his colleague Abdo’s ‘loyalty’ to Malik.
It all started with typical fun and games as the former Liverpool man asked Abdo to wear an Arsenal shirt like he did, a request which Abdo turned down, saying she was loyal.
Carragher then chimed in with "Loyal to who? Not to Malik.". in a comment that rubbed the celebrated Abdo the wrong way.

What ensued was an awkward moment of silence right after Abdo retorted by asking, "What? Why would you even say that?"
That incident ended up being a major talking point throughout the Champions League live coverage, although Abdo revealed a day later in a brave monologue that she had forgiven her “brother” Carragher.
Malik Scott responds
In the wake of the viral incident, fans have been guessing where Malik stood in the whole drama since he was at the centre of the controversial piece of banter.
The boxing trainer spoke to Lord Ping who he addressed the incident, insisting he had no problem with Carragher and was glad his girlfriend handled the situation with class.
"The only problem I have with things like that is if Kate feels some kind of way about it, she handled it very well,” he said, per The Mirror.

FootballHis initial statement was then followed up with a chilling warning, as he made it clear he would confront Carragher if the Liverpool legend ever put Abdo in a situation that upset her.
He added: "It was not something I lost any sleep over because I noticed the way Kate handled it was very, very well, and Jamie was just being Jamie and I have no problem with him.
"As long as Kate is happy, I have no problem. Now if he makes Kate upset then I have a serious problem and he'll get a call from me, and if he doesn't pick up my call I'll show up in a physical manner for him."
