Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to make a comeback after the international break.

The Super Eagles talisman, initially called up for their friendlies against Ghana and Mali, was sidelined due to an injury incurred during Napoli's clash against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

The setback led to his absence from the Serie A champions showdown against Inter Milan and prompted his withdrawal from international duty.

Nonetheless, Osimhen's absence was scarcely felt in Nigeria's initial encounter with Ghana, as Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman sealed a triumphant 2-1 victory for the team.

Napoli and Nigerian supporters have reason to rejoice, with reports that the 25-year-old marksman is on the brink of a full recovery. As reported by Soccernet, Osimhen has already commenced personalized training sessions on the pitch, signalling a positive trajectory towards regaining full fitness.

The Nigerian forward is anticipated to be fit just in time for the league clash against Atalanta on March 30, staged at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

Osimhen's future after Napoli

Despite recently committing to Napoli with a fresh contract, speculation swirls around Osimhen's future, with renowned Italian football agent Roberto De Fanti hinting at a potential move to Manchester United in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Notwithstanding fervent interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, De Fanti contends that Manchester United's quest for a prolific striker could culminate in Osimhen's acquisition, citing his prowess as a quintessential number nine.

"The truth is that United, above all, are looking for a centre-forward, Hojlund is doing reasonably well, but their new classic 'number nine' could be Osimhen," Fanti said, as quoted on TeamTalk.
