  • Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford has come under heavy scrutiny recently

Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has responded on whether the club could make a move for Jurgen Klopp to replace Erik ten Hag.

The Liverpool manager is set to be without a job at the end of the season after he announced his intent to quit Anfield this summer.

The German tactician took the football world by surprise in January when he dropped the bombshell on his intent to depart Anfield after more than seven years in charge.

In his announcement, Sky Sports reported that the 56-year-old disclosed that he was 'running out of energy'.

"I still think it's the right thing to do. I don't take these things lightly. I'm convinced it's right. I have no regrets but a lot of special memories," Klopp said.

Could Man United move for Klopp?

Given his credentials, the Liverpool boss is not expected to be out of a job for long, with a number of top European clubs expected to tempt him with an offer.

Recently, Ratcliffe was asked if United would consider such a prospect, with the British billionaire responding:

"You can't ask questions like that, Geraint!" he said on the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast, per Sportskeeda.

Current Red Devils boss, Erik ten Hag, is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with a section of fans calling for his sacking.

England's head coach, Gareth Southgate, has almost been touted as a possible replacement for the Dutchman.

Klopp walks out of an interview

In other news, Sports Brief previously reported on Klopp courting controversy after storming out of an interview shortly after Liverpool lost to Man United in the FA Cup.

Youngster, Amad Diallo, netted the winner in the 120th minute to secure the Red Devils a spot in the semi-final of the FA Cup, next taking on Coventry at Wembley Stadium.
