TS Galaxy head coach, Sead Ramovic, has expressed deep sympathy for the family affected by the recent bus accident in Mbombela.

The team, still reeling from the traumatic event, is committed to assisting the children of the deceased woman.

The scheduled match between Galaxy and Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium was postponed after the team's bus collided with a VW Polo en route from Johannesburg.

Tragically, the driver of the VW Polo lost her life in the accident.

Ramovic reflected on the impact of witnessing the accident, acknowledging its profound effect on the team. Despite emerging physically unscathed, the emotional toll on players and staff was palpable.

“This is what we know, we just pray that the woman who lost her life is in the most beautiful place in heaven. We will try our best to help where we can to help the children of the woman, the best we can," he said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

The club's president, Tim Sukazi, had earlier stressed the challenges faced by the team in the aftermath of the accident. Notably, the absence of professional counselling compounded the players' distress.

Sukazi appealed for understanding and support from the league, highlighting the gravity of the situation and its impact on the team's well-being.

“It is the league that makes decisions, but then we need to report and make them aware and also make them aware that our players are in trauma and distress state. What caused the trauma and made it worse was the situation where the driver of that vehicle lost her life," he explained, as quoted by Far Post.

Following the incident, TS Galaxy played to a goalless draw with Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. They welcome D'General in the Nedbank Cup at the Free State Stadium on Sunday, March 17.

Ramovic addresses postponement of PSL Clash vs Sundowns

Sports Brief reported that Ramovic explained why his team couldn't play just a day after the tragic incident.

He stressed that playing a game the following day would be insensitive and disrespectful to the loss suffered by the family.

The coach commended the league for prioritizing human life by granting the request for postponement.
