  • Victor Osimhen is one of Arsenal's potential transfer targets this summer
  • The Napoli striker is thought to be high on manager, Mikel Arteta's radar
  • Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also linked with interest in Osimhen

Arsenal could possess one of the most fearsome squads in Europe if the Gunners achieve their aim of signing Napoli frontman, Victor Osimhen, in the summer.

The 25-year-old Nigerian striker is thought to be top of manager, Mikel Arteta’s list as he continues his search for a marquee striker ahead of the 2024/25 season.

According to Fan Sided, Osimhen is the most sought-after strikers in the transfer window, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also reportedly interested in signing the centre-forward.

The Super Eagles forward is reportedly worth over £100 million after recently signing a contract extension with Napoli until 2026.

However, club president, Aurelio De Laurentis, admitted that it would be difficult to keep their star player beyond the summer due to the big money involved.

If Arsenal are successful in their bid to sign Osimhen this summer, they could possess one of the lethal squads in Europe heading into the new campaign.

How Chelsea could lose Osimhen to Arsenal

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s potential participation in the UEFA Champions League next season is seen as a significant advantage in their pursuit of Osimhen over London rivals Chelsea, Just Arsenal reports.

The Blues are facing another period of inconsistency this season and are unlikely to secure a European competition place as they are currently placed 11th in the Premier League standings this season.

Chelsea’s only hope of winning a title rests on the FA Cup as they are through to the quarter-finals, but it will take a miracle for them to upstage the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the crown.

Napoli want €130 million for Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Napoli are demanding €130mil for Osimhen, with Chelsea said to be pursuing the Super Eagles forward's signature.

The 25-year-old is said to be top of a shortlist of strikers for the Blues this summer as they seek to reinforce on attack after a lackluster 2023/24 season.
