Jean Michael Seri received a hero's welcome from Hull City following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Fulham midfielder starred as Ivory Coast staged a remarkable comeback to win the tournament on home soil.

Seri, who missed the group-stage games, became the fulcrum of the team in the knockout stages as the Elephants went from the brink of elimination to AFCON winners.

In a video shared on social media, the 32-year-old was given a special welcome as he rejoined his Hull City teammates in England. He was also presented with a cake iced in the colours of Ivory Coast.

The ex-Nice midfielder quickly switched into his training attire as the Tigers prepared for their upcoming games.

He is expected to play a key role in Hull City's quest to make a return to the English Premier League, having struggled since dropping into the Championship.

The Ivorian midfielder is expected to return to the starting team for Tuesday's game against Southampton in the English second tier.

Hull City sits eighth in the Championship table but are in contention for a play-off spot, per US Soccerway.

Haller receives hero's welcome from Dortmund

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Sebastien Haller receiving a kingly welcome after his return to Borussia Dortmund as an Africa Cup of Nations winner.

The Ivorian forward scored the eventual winner as the Elephants came from a goal down to beat Nigeria in the final and claim their third AFCON title.

Having missed the opening round due to injury, the 29-year-old proved important for the Elephants, netting the winner in the semi-final against DR Congo.

Bayer Leverkusen celebrates Kossounou

Sports Brief also reported that Ivory Coast's Odilon Kossounou received a special welcome from Bayer Leverkusen on his return from the AFCON.

The defender starred as the host nation staged a remarkable comeback to beat Nigeria in the final round and win the 2023 Nations Cup trophy.

Kossounou started in the final for the Elephants after missing the semi-final against DR Congo, playing a key role in the final victory over Nigeria.
