  • Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal are the leading contenders for the EPL title
  • The Reds are currently topping the table with 54 points from 24 rounds of matches
  • Only two points separate Jurgen Klopp's men and Arsenal, who currently sit third

Jose Mourinho has predicted which club could win the Premier League as the title race hots up.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have emerged as outright favourites for the crown this term.

Only two points separate the top-placed Reds from the Gunners, who sit third after 24 rounds of matches.

Mikel Arteta's charges sent a title statement last weekend when they hammered West Ham United 6-0 away from home, with the win coming just days after they silenced the Reds 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Guardian, the Gunners' most recent victory took them to 52 points, which has them level on points with second-placed City.

Mourinho makes EPL title prediction

Despite Arsenal's competitiveness, Mourinho does not see them winning this season's Premier League title.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on the FIVE with VIBE podcast, the former Roma boss backed Liverpool and Man City as the favourites.

"Premier League… City or Liverpool, so I’m not making a mistake. But I think City," he said.

The Portuguese also made his prediction for the UEFA Champions League, pointing out that City or Real Madrid are likely to carry the day.

"Champions League… I would say City or Real Madrid. If somebody outside wins it that would be a great surprise for me.
"I would love Real to win it again," he also admitted.

Real Madrid, Man City, and Bayern Munich are among the top teams still in the European competition.

Mourinho speaks on Man United spell

In other news, Sports Brief reported on Mourinho reflecting on his Manchester United spell, which lasted about three years.

The former Roma boss managed the Red Devils between 2015 and 2018 when he was sacked despite his successes there.

The 61-year-old veteran tactician helped the English giants to two titles, including the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.
