  • Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a possible PSG exit this summer
  • Real Madrid are thought to be favourites to sign the French forward
  • Arsenal have also emerged as a potential candidates for his services

Arsenal could be forced to cash in on as many as seven players to fund the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is facing an uncertain future with the French giants, with his current deal at Parc des Princes set to expire at the end of the season.

Real Madrid were thought to be the firm favourites to sign the 25-year-old once he departs the French capital, having come close to land him in 2022.

However, the dynamics have since changed, with Arsenal and Liverpool emerging as possible destinations in recent weeks.

According to The Independent, Mbappe is open to joining the Gunners, as he has a dream of walking in the footsteps of the club's legend, Thierry Henry.

However, signing the France international won't come cheaply for the north Londoners.

So much so that the Express UK reports that the Mikel Arteta-tutored side may have to offload some big names to afford Mbappe's monstrous £62million-a-year paycheck.

Sports Brief takes a look at seven players Arsenal may have to sell to afford Mbappe.

1. Thomas Partey

The Ghanaian is currently one of the biggest earners at the Emirates.

However, he has endured a difficult spell with Arsenal since he joined them from Atletico Madrid.

The versatile midfielder's stint has been riddled with recurring injuries, hindering his contribution to the team.

2. Aaron Ramsdale

Going by the current circumstances, Ramsdale seemingly has no future at Arsenal.

The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order, with Arteta preferring David Raya between the sticks.

3. Jorginho

The former Chelsea midfielder's deal at Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season.

While the Gunners have the option of activating a one-year extension, this is unlikely to happen.

4. Kieran Tierney

The left-back is currently on loan at Real Sociedad.

Considering that Arteta is already flush with options in the position, both Tierney and Arsenal would be happy to part ways.

5. Kai Havertz

If Arsenal are to free up their wage bill to accommodate Mbappe, some hard decisions may need to be made.

Havertz is one of the top guns that could be sacrificed for this to happen.

The German is on an enormous £14.6m annual salary.

6. Reiss Nelson

The youngster has seen game time hard to come by despite penning a new bumper deal.

Nelson is yet to start a single Premier League game this season and could seek a move away for regular football.

7. Gabriel Jesus

Mbappe's potential arrival at Arsenal will obviously have casualties.

And the casualties will have to come from the attacking department.

Beyond helping save some money in wages, offloading Jesus will also free up space up front to make room for Mbappe.

How Madrid could line up with Mbappe

Real Madrid continue their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, and the Spanish side remain favourites to secure his signature.

Sports Brief took a look at how Madrid could line up next season if the Frenchman were to join their side next season.
