It is one of the biggest teams in the English Premier League and the world, having won many titles. Upon the sale by Roman Abramovich, the American Todd Boehly took over and has been on a spending spree ever since. So, which players did Chelsea acquire during this transfer window? How much has Chelsea spent this transfer window?

It is no surprise that Chelsea turned some heads in the January transfer window. They spent a massive chunk of money on quality players. It is estimated that they spent more than $600 million in their current regime. Here are some of the players they have signed in the January window so far:

1. Andrey Santos (Midfielder)

The young star from Brazilian team Vasco Da Game is supposed to feature in their under-23 side. The 18-year-old cost Chelsea $13.3 million. He was the youngest player ever in the club after making his debut at only 17. The young star is big and has good vision as a central midfielder.

2. David Datro Fofana (Striker)

Dubbed the next Dedier Drogba, the young striker has already shown his quality in the match he has featured for Chelsea. The 20-year-old was signed for Molde in Norway for $12 million. The star scored 15 goals in 24 games and assisted five more goals. Upon signing, he said the following,

"Hello, dear fans, I'm here, I've arrived well, and I'm very happy to sign for the club of my dreams. I'll see you soon on the pitch, cheers!"

He signed a six-and-a-half-year contract with the blues.

3. Malo Gusto (Right back)

The 19-year-old is another exciting prospect for the blues. The former Lyon player, however, is currently injured after being loaned back to the team. He is supposed to battle it out with the likes of Reece James for his position after linking up with the team in the summer.

He was signed for $31.3 million. The player signed a six-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea.

4. Noni Madueke (Right winger, Attacking midfielder)

The 20-year-old signed a 7-year contract with the club after securing a move from PSV. He is reported to have been under Chelsea's radar for more than four years and has proved his quality in the matches he has featured for the team so far. He cost the team around $42.2 million.

On his signing, he said,

"I'm really pleased to sign with one of the best clubs in the world in Chelsea. To return to England and play in the Premier League is a dream for me and my family and I cannot wait to get started."

5. Benoit Badiashile (Defender)

The 21-year-old defender is already in the good books of Chelsea fans due to his calm, composure and instinctive tackles. The Frenchman from Monaco cost the team $41 million. He was very excited to join the team and be part of the project. In his interview, he said,

"I'm very happy to be here at Chelsea. I'm so excited to start playing for this club. I can't wait to see the fans and start playing in the best league in the world."

6. Joao Felix (Attacker, Forward)

The 23-year-old was a surprise loan move to most Chelsea fans. Chelsea agreed with Atletico Madrid to pay 100% of his wages plus an $11.7 million loan fee. The star has already impressed most fans and was surprised by their support despite conceding a red card in his first game for the club.

There are speculations that Todd Boehly might go for the complete buy in the summer though there is no buy obligation in the contract.

Upon his signing, he said,

"Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world, and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge."

7. Mykhailo Mudryk (Winger)

The 22-year-old Ukrainian is among the best prospects for the club and the Premier League. His start, however, has yet to go to plan, with his latest squabble being his Instagram likes, where he liked a post criticising his teammate, Cucurela, for not passing him the ball. He is one of the world's fastest and most technically inept youngsters.

He cost the team $106 million after Chelsea successfully hijacked his sale to Arsenal. In his interview, he said,

"I'm so happy to sign for Chelsea. This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I'm excited to meet my new teammates, and I'm looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff."

8. Enzo Fernandez (Midfielder)

In the January transfer window, the 2022 World Cup Young Player of the tournament winner was number one on the Chelsea transfer targets list. He was at the top of Chelsea's spending this transfer window after they paid $127.8 million, a transfer record in the Premier League. He signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract with the blues after a fantastic season with Benfica and a World Cup-winning campaign with Lionel Messi.

His signing was controversial and had to go till the last minute of the deadline day, which had Chelsea fans worried. He said the following on his signing,

"I am grateful to Chelsea and its ownership for doing everything they could to make me a part of this project. I'm happy and excited to join the Pride of London, to play in the best league in the world and to compete for the biggest trophies. I can't wait to play in front of our fans and help my teammates on and off the pitch."
