Kylian Mbappe took one step closer to a marquee transfer after previously confirming that he would leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season.

His journey with the Ligue 1 champions ended on a somewhat sour note after a 3-1 loss against Toulouse on May 12, with some fans even booing the forward.

With Mbappe's final game for the Parisians done, speculation remains rife that he will be signing for new La Liga champions, Real Madrid, in the summer.

As reported by The Athletic, PSG have already secured the Ligue 1 title, their 10th in the last 12 seasons, and received the trophy after Sunday's home-field loss against Toulouse.

Luis Enrique's side were eliminated from the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals, with a 1-0 loss in the second leg at home sealing a 2-0 aggregate defeat.

This means Mbappe will not get the send-off he had hoped for and he instead ended his seven-year spell at PSG without ever having won Europe's elite club competition.

Mbappe to join Real Madrid?

After years of speculation and rumours, it appears that Real Madrid may finally secure the services of Mbappe.

This move could be a game-changer for Los Blancos, offering the French captain the ideal opportunity to pursue a UEFA Champions League trophy.

Mbappe has reportedly chosen to join the Spanish giants in the summer, aiming at a significant impact at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, per football insider, Fabrizio Romano.

Should Carlo Ancelotti's team experience their desired transfer window in 2024, the prospects for the La Liga giants could become very promising.

With this in consideration, Sports Brief has devised the ultimate starting XI they could deploy next season, assuming everything unfolds as intended.

How Real Madrid could line up with Mbappe

Thibaut Courtois

After returning from his devastating injury, Courtois will reassume his role as the primary goalkeeper at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have shown no inclination to seek a replacement for him in the foreseeable future.

Dani Carvajal

Given Carvajal's consistently outstanding performances for the La Liga club, it seems unlikely Los Blancos will seek a replacement for the Spaniard soon, especially with other areas of the team needing attention.

Eder Militao

Despite being sidelined by injury for most of this season, Militao remains one of the most formidable defenders at the Spanish capital club.

Upon his recovery and return to availability, the Brazilian is expected to reclaim his place in the club's starting lineup.

Antonio Rudiger

Much like Militao, Rudiger has been an exceptional asset for Real Madrid since his arrival at the club.

Signed from Chelsea, the German has seamlessly integrated into the backline of the La Liga giants, consistently proving his worth as a reliable starter.

Alphonso Davies

It would undoubtedly be a significant capture for the Spanish club, and upon his arrival, there's little question that he would assert himself as the primary left-back within the team.

Few full-backs worldwide can match his calibre, and if he replicates even a fraction of his performances at the Allianz Arena in recent years, Madrid will secure an exceptional talent.

Federico Valverde

Given the extensive efforts Real Madrid has invested in reshaping their midfield in recent years, it's unlikely they'll undergo significant changes this summer.

Valverde has been an outstanding asset for the club since emerging from the youth academy and debuting for the first team in 2018.

Per Transfermarkt, the Uruguay captain has already amassed nearly 250 appearances for the White Angels, with expectations of that figure rising significantly in the future.

Eduardo Camavinga

As one of the most promising young talents in global football, he is expected to remain with the club for the foreseeable future and is poised to develop into a truly world-class player under Ancelotti's mentorship.

Despite the hefty investment in the youngster, the emergence of stars like Mbappe reportedly joining means the revamped midfield won't require any further adjustments or focus.

Aurelien Tchouameni

Since joining Madrid at 24, he has made 73 appearances and quickly solidified his position as one of the club's key players moving forward.

His impressive performances have indicated he will continue to play a vital role for the team in the foreseeable future.

Given his remarkable contributions thus far, he is undoubtedly poised to be one of the first names on the teamsheet when the next season begins.

Jude Bellingham

Bellingham's potential knows no bounds, and by securing his signature, they've secured one of the planet's premier talents for the long term.

If any player's position in the team is secure, it's the Englishman's, and there's no possibility of him being displaced from the lineup next season.

Vinicius Junior

At just 23 years old, Vinicius is already reaching elite levels of performance.

However, given his youth, there's ample potential for further development. It's fascinating to ponder the extent of his improvement in the years ahead.

Kylian Mbappe

Should he indeed join Madrid in the summer, the team would immediately ascend to one of the best in the world, likely becoming favourites to win the Champions League.

It's precisely the type of move the forward would want after his years in Ligue 1.

Real Madrid president calls Kylian Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kylian Mbappe reportedly received a phone call from Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, after PSG's exit from the Champions League.

According to reports from Spain, the Los Blancos chief allegedly dialled Mbappe on after Luis Enrique's team was knocked out by Borussia Dortmund to express his sympathies.
