Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has reacted curiously after the Black Stars' calamitous performance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.
The four-time African champions are on the brink of elimination from the tournament after conceding twice in injury time to draw 2-2 with Mozambique on Monday.
Ghana is now depending on results from some other group-stage games to determine if they will stay in Ivory Coast.
Although Gyan has been keenly following the tournament, he has been quiet since the match ended at the Alassane Outarra Stadium in Abidjan.
However, on Tuesday afternoon, the 37-year-old posted a video suggesting he was always been the target when the team failed despite the sacrifice he made for the nation.
The video was accompanied by pondering and zipped lips emojis, as shared on social media, with the post aligning with his previous comments about his time with the Black Stars.
The Black Stars have not won a game at the Africa Cup of Nations since 2017, and are currently on an 11-game winless streak in the continental competition.
During Gyan's time with the Black Stars, Ghana reached the final of the competition twice before he was surprisingly stripped of the captaincy at the 2019 edition.
Ghana finished Group B of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with only two points from three matches, per Sky Sports and need a miracle to reach the knockouts.
