  • Nairobi City Stars are on a fine streak in the 2023/24 FKF Premier League
  • Nicholas Muyoti's boys have secured seven consecutive victories
  • City Stars are currently second in the league table with 33 points

Nairobi City Stars are on a remarkable streak of seven consecutive victories in the 2023/24 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

However, head coach Nicholas Muyoti remains cautious about their chances of clinching the coveted league title.

Currently occupying the second spot on the league table with 33 points, City Stars trail the leaders, perennial champions Gor Mahia, by seven points after 18 match weeks.

Their recent triumph was a narrow 1-0 win against Posta Rangers at the Ruaraka Grounds.

Despite their impressive form, Coach Muyoti keeps focusing on the immediate future.

"I am not thinking about Gor Mahia; I am just thinking about our next match. We have a job to do, and we are concentrating on our upcoming opponent. When we face Gor Mahia, we will think about them, but for now, our thoughts and plans are centred around AFC Leopards," Citizen Digital quotes Muyoti.

Mohamed Ali Bajaber, a key attacker for City Stars, earned a spot in the match week 18 Team of the Week, thanks to his decisive goal against Posta Rangers.

Muyoti's team is gearing up to face AFC Leopards on Sunday, January 15, 2024, at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. Leopards secured their second consecutive win by defeating Muhoroni Youth 1-0 at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium Momboleo, Kisumu County. Jafferry Owiti's third-minute goal secured the victory, placing Leopards 12th on the league table with 21 points.
