The Football Kenya Federation Premier League is set to resume this weekend, marking the beginning of the second round of matches.

Gor Mahia, the perennial champions, concluded the first leg with a narrow 1-0 victory over Posta Rangers, maintaining an unbeaten status.

Leading the league comfortably with 37 points, K'Ogalo has secured 10 wins and seven draws. The upcoming Saturday fixture at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos will see Gor Mahia hosting 13th-placed Kariobangi Sharks, who currently have 18 points.

Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz, positioned sixth on the league table with 27 points, will face Bandari Football Club at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County. Bandari, holding the fourth spot with 29 points, has three wins and two losses in their last five games.

Sunday's highlight will be the clash at Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi, where second-placed Nairobi City Stars will host Posta Rangers. Nicholas Muyoti’s team, with 30 points and five consecutive wins, aims to secure victory against Posta, who trail by one point.

In fifth place, Tusker FC continues their outstanding form after a 5-0 away win over seventh-placed KCB Football Club. They will face Sofapaka at Kenyatta Stadium, as reported by FKF.

Relegation-threatened Sofapaka, with only 17 points after 17 games, looks to coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno for inspiration after their recent 3-0 home victory against Bidco United.

In another critical matchup at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma County, last-placed Nzoia United will face struggling Shabana (17th), separated by only one point in the relegation zone. Both teams have won three games each, losing nine and 10, respectively.

Seventh-placed KCB will visit Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, with the bankers seeking to climb into the top 4 with 27 points. Ulinzi, in 15th place with 17 points, hopes to improve after losing three of their last five games.

AFC Leopards (12th) and Muhoroni Youth will clash at Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu, both teams currently holding 18 points. Leopards’ Clifton Miheso jointly leads the FKF Premier League top assister's chart. The winger has five vital assists, as reported by Pulse Sports.

The weekend's final fixture will feature 10th-placed Murang’a Seal against FC Talanta (11th) at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a

2024 FKF Cup

Sports Brief reported that four FKFPL clubs have chosen to skip the upcoming 2024 FKF Cup (Mozzart Bet Cup) edition.

The event grants winners a trophy and serves as a trail to entry into the CAF Confederation Cup.

36 clubs have confirmed their involvement in this year’s edition, scheduled to kick off on January 27, 2024, with a preliminary round.
