However, the hosts found themselves trailing 2-0 at the break following goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker.

Sky Sports reports both McGinn and Dendoncker found the back of the net via set-pieces, with the former scoring with a free kick.

Aston Villa were unable to protect the lead going into the second half, with United springing a comeback to see them off.

Alejandro Garnacho was at the centre of the comeback, with the youngster scoring a brace before Rasmus Hojlund's winner in the 81st minute.

How Ten Hag inspired United's comeback

Ten Hag has now opened up on the message he shared with his charges to inspire the comeback win.

Speaking in his post-match address, the Dutchman disclosed that he asked his players to 'keep believing.'

"Keep believing," Ten Hag said when asked to disclose his half-time message to his players.
"What kind of team can handle and deal with the amount of setbacks we have had? They are resilient, they have showed character and their personality to turn it around," he added via The Mirror.

Meanwhile, the epic win from the Tuesday night clash was enough to send the Red Devils to sixth in the Premier League standings.

Hojlund scores first EPL goal for United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Ramsus Hojlund has finally ended his Premier League goal drought following his winner for Manchester United against Aston Villa.

The Danish star joined the Red Devils in the summer from Atalanta in a deal valued at £72m.

While Hojlund enjoyed a bright start with United in their Champions League campaign by scoring five goals, he has endured his fair share of struggles when it comes to the Premier League.
