FootballKylian Mbappe and the Top Players Out of Contract in 2024 Ahead of January Transfer Window
- Kylian Mbappe leads a list of players whose contracts will be expiring in 2024
- The French captain has flirted with the idea of leaving PSG numerous times
- We take a look at the other players who enter the last six months of their contract
The festive period will quickly be replaced with the January transfer window as clubs scramble to replenish their squads ahead of their different objectives after the winter break.
Clubs like Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Girona will be hoping to keep their title hopes alive as Lyon and a couple of others battle against relegation.
Players whose contracts expire in 2024 can start negotiating and committing with other clubs in January. The Bosman rule passed in 1995 also gives them the advantage of demanding better terms from their parent clubs. Clubs also tend to cash in rather than lose you on a free transfer once the six months have elapsed.
We take a look at some of the top players who might swap clubs next season once their contracts run out.
1. Kylian Mbappe - Paris Saint-Germain
Well, you already know that will create massive headlines. Will he renew or finally leave? Paris Saint-Germain have insisted that the deal was up to 2025, but the terms of the deal was 'until 2024 with an option to extend for one year.'
The Frenchman already informed the club of his plan not to exercise that option during the push and pull at the start of this season. Real Madrid remain interested, as ESPN reports.
2. Adrien Rabiot - Juventus
The Frenchman has undergone a beautiful career revitalization in Italy after being frozen out by PSG. His importance to Massimiliano Allegri and the Old Lady project will be tested when contract extension talks start next year. At 28 years old, Rabiot can still find several top suitors in Europe.

Football3. Anthony Martial - Manchester United
So good was Anthony Martial when he was signed in 2016, that AS Monaco inserted a Ballon d'Or clause in his contract. His career in England has, however, unravelled sadly, with the new minority and controlling ownership of INEOS highly unlikely to extend his contract.
4. Toni Kroos/Luka Modric - Real Madrid
Florentino Perez will be faced with the dilemma of whether or not to extend the contracts of his long-serving midfield generals.
The Los Blancos have made a decent makeover in recent windows, bringing in Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham and might just be comfortable with letting the veterans leave.
5. Jorginho - Arsenal
The Italian midfielder made the surprise decision to swap London rivals in January this year, signing a short-term contract in North London.
He hasn't been a regular for Mikel Arteta. With the signing of Declan Rice this summer and the availability of Thomas Partey whenever he is fit, the Gunners might decide to cut the Euro winner loose.
