Mbappe takes cue from Messi
Speaking to Telefoot after reaching the milestone, the 24-year-old spoke of his development as a player and admits he must keep growing and changing his game.
“My development as a player? Even the greatests had to change some things. I played with Messi, for example, and Messi changed the way he played and was not the same in Barcelona as he was in Paris,” he said.
“This is the thing that allowed him to continue winning the World Cup and continue achieving team and individual awards.”
The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner recently picked up his record-extending 8th Ballon d'Or, beating competition from Mbappe and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
The former Monaco star is tipped to be one of the players expected to win the Golden Ball on multiple occasions, and many have advised him to leave Paris for Real Madrid.
