Liverpool vs. Manchester United Preview

Form Guide

Liverpool will head into their showdown with Manchester United in excellent form.

The Reds have won each of their last three league matches, including a dramatic 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Matchday 16.

Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott scored two late goals to complete the come-from-behind win for Liverpool and help the Reds grab the top spot in the Premier League table.

Manchester United are coming off a 3-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth in their last league match. Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing, and Marcos Senesi scored the goals for the Cherries, who handed the Red Devils yet another defeat at Old Trafford.

Liverpool have turned Anfield into a fortress, winning each of their seven league matches there this season.

United are seventh in the league in points scored in away matches with 12, recording four wins and three losses in their travels this campaign.

Recent Head-to-Head matchups

Liverpool and Manchester United fans won't forget the last meeting between the two sides at Anfield.

The Reds demolished the Red Devils 7-0 last March, with all of the goals coming from the 43rd minute onward.

Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah all scored braces for Liverpool in the rout.

United last won a league match at Anfield in 2016, when Wayne Rooney scored the lone goal in the 78th minute.

The Red Devils have lost four of their last seven away matches against Liverpool.

Team News

Bruno Fernandes will miss Sunday's game against Liverpool due to suspension, per 90min.

He was handed a one-match ban for yellow card accumulation after picking up a booking in the loss to Bournemouth.

That's another concern for manager Erik ten Hag, who's also missing the services of the injured Christian Eriksen.

United will also likely be missing Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw this Sunday after they went off injured against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
