  • Real Madrid has been advised to sign Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen
  • The Napoli forward has continued to attract interest from top European clubs
  • Osimhen has scored six goals this season in all competitions for Napoli

Gianfranco Zola believes Napoli forward Victor Osimhen would be a better signing for Real Madrid than Kylian Mbappe as the Spanish club continues to search for a world-class centre forward.

Los Blancos, who have their eyes set on signing Mbappe, have yet to be successful in their bid to replace former captain Karim Benzema, who joined Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad last summer.

According to Football Transfers, Zola believes Osimhen would be the ideal fit for the 14-time Champions League winners to fill the vacant centre-forward role due to his abilities.

“There are many big names, such as Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and even Osimhen, who I see as a perfect fit for Real Madrid.
“I might choose Mbappe, given his talent and personality, he is the right fit, but he is more of a winger than a striker, so in my opinion Haaland or Osimhen would be better as they are classic centre forwards. Every coach has his own vision.”

Osimhen came on as a second-half substitute but failed to prevent Napoli from losing 4-2 against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Osimhen is a complete striker

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti hailed Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as a complete striker before their clash in the UEFA Champions League, Six Sports reports.

The Nigerian is recently linked with a move away from Napoli with top clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal being credited with an interest in the centre forward.

Osimhen, who has scored six goals this season, has battled with injuries this season and only recently returned from a hamstring problem that ruled him out for up to three weeks.

Osimhen and Bellingham share friendly tap

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen was on the losing side during Napoli's clash with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League but shared a lovely moment with Jude Bellingham in the game.

The Nigerian international started the game on the bench after just returning to the team from injury.

Osimhen could not help the Italian side to victory over the Spanish giants at the Santiago Bernabeu as they lost 4-2 away from home.
