The 23-year-old was pivotal in Carlo Ancelotti's team securing their 14th UEFA Champions League title in 2022, delivering two late goals against Manchester City to orchestrate a remarkable comeback.

According to a report by Fotmob, Rodrygo once again showcased his talent and prowess by scoring a brace, helping Real Madrid clinch their first Copa Del Rey title in nine years against Osasuna.

The forward's impeccable talent has earned him a contract extension at the Spanish club. As reported by Diario AS, the Brazilian forward has signed a new contract that would keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until at least 2028.

He now joins the ranks of players like Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde, who have recently committed their futures to the club.

Following the announcement of his contract extension, Rodrygo addressed the media and was faced with a flurry of questions, including that of his most unforgettable football memory.

Rodrygo on his unforgettable football memory

Speaking as quoted via Madrid Xtra, the former Santos star said:

"An unforgettable memory? My 2nd goal against Man City in the Semi-Final of the 14th UCL. That moment will always be in my memory."

The Brazilian would further go on to add:

"Real Madrid is my life. There is no other club as big as Real Madrid. Here you are at the highest level of football. It is a club without comparison, the top of football."

Although Rodrygo possesses immense qualities, he has recently faced a challenging goal drought attributed mainly to a tactical change by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian is expected to be in the starting lineup when Los Blancos face Rayo Vallecano, and he is determined to end his goalscoring dry spell.

Rodrygo backed to shine again

Sports Brief in a previous report stated Rodrygo is having a tough start to the 2023/24 season for Real Madrid, but the La Liga club is solidly behind the Brazilian forward despite his struggles this campaign.

While Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior are hugging the headlines for their performances this season, the 22-year-old forward has managed just one goal in over 800 minutes for Los Blancos.

According to Football Espana, President Florentino Perez still sees Rodrygo with the potential to become one of the best players in the world and has backed him to find his best form again.
