Kylian Mbappe has reportedly been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad that will face Metz in their final game of the season.

PSG, who have already won the French Ligue 1 title are scheduled to play Metz away at Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday evening, May 19.

Typically, this would have been Mbappe's final game of the season for the French giants ahead of his summer exit.

The forward has now seemingly all but played his last game for PSG following a decision to leave him out of the team that will travel to Metz.

According to ESPN, the 25-year-old is not part of the 20-man squad selected for the fixture.

When asked for a comment about this development, PSG did not give a reason for Mbappe's axing from the team.

Interestingly, the France international also missed his side's 2-1 win over Nice last Wednesday due to what was described as a 'medical precaution.

It remains to be seen if he will be involved when PSG play Lyon next Saturday in the French Cup final.

Mbappe set for PSG exit

The latest development comes just days after Mbappe announced he would be departing PSG at the end of the season.

In a video shared on his social media, the forward thanked the club for their support during his stint at Parc des Princes.

According to Goal, Real Madrid are understood to be the leading contenders to land his services on a free transfer.

Mbappe will be quitting PSG as the club's all-time top scorer with 256 goals to his name.

The former Monaco man scored 191 of those goals in the French top-flight.

His exploits have seen him win the Ligue 1 on six occasions.

Mbappe says goodbye to PSG fans

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mbappe bidding PSG fans farewell with a defeat in the Ligue 1.

The winger scored his side's consolation as Toulouse hammered Luis Enrique's men 3-1.
