  • Portuguese veteran Cristiano Ronaldo continues to go strong at 38 years old

  • A Real Madrid midfielder hailed the Portuguese captain in his recent podcast

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to defy the odds with his talent and consistent world-class showings, which become more iconic when the longevity of the Portuguese star is factored into the scenario.

The Al-Nassr captain, who has lit up the scenes in the Saudi Pro League with 13 goal involvements so far this season, has attracted numerous plaudits from several individuals over his career.

The latest notable name to join this trend is Real Madrid veteran midfielder, Toni Kroos.

The former Germany international, who defined an era in Los Blancos history alongside Ronaldo, recently aired the latest edition of his podcast.

Kroos was full of praise for his former teammate and also compared him to a basketball legend.

Toni Kroos speaks on Cristiano Ronaldo

The 33-year-old World Cup winner, who is renowned for his straightforward and candid style of communication, remarked as cited by TCR:

"Cristiano is something special. How did he get to this point? This obsession in training. Always wanting to be the best - working to be his best version."

Kroos further highlighted the hunger possessed by his former teammate:

"He wasn't satisfied when it was 4-0 and if he had only scored two goals because he always wanted to score a third, fourth, and fifth goal. This obsession made him the player that he is. That's what the public doesn't see... A clear parallel to LeBron James."

The former Bayern Munich man also reflected on the longevity of the Portuguese forward.

"You see how he still dominates games at 38 and you just ask yourself how!"

Kroos, who was a mainstay of Los Blancos' hat-trick of UEFA Champions League titles along with Ronaldo, will now shift his attention to Real Madrid's La Liga fixture against UD Las Palmas, as reported by Managing Madrid.

Ronaldo scores 'ghost' goal against Al-Ahli

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo scoring a 'ghost goal' for Al-Nassr against Al-Ahli, finding the back of the net despite a cloud of smoke from flares lit inside the stadium.

When Sadio Mane sent his captain on a break toward the goal within just four minutes, former Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy appeared nearly invisible to the naked eye.
