Sadio Mane was unhappy with refereeing during the game between Senegal and Algeria at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Dakar on Tuesday night.
The Al Nassr star was in action as the African champions lost to Algeria in what was a repeat of the 2019 AFCON finals.
Fares Chaibi headed home the winner in the 64th minute after meeting a lovely cross from former Manchester City winger, Riyad Mahrez.
In a video shared on social media, Mane lost his cool after a decision was taken against him with Senegal on an attacking move. The ex-Liverpool winger blasted the ball into the air before furiously talking at the referee, who showed him the yellow card.
Senegal secured early Africa Cup of Nations qualification and rounded up the qualifiers with a 1-1 draw against Rwanda.
The AFCON holders have started preparations ahead of the defence of their title in Ivory Coast next year.
Meanwhile, Mane is expected to return to Saudi Arabia to rejoin his Al Nassr teammates ahead of the resumption of the league.
Mane has scored five goals in five games for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, as reported by Transfermarkt.
Mane offers Amara Diouf advise
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Al Nassr forward, Sadio Mane has advised promising star, Amara Diouf, to ignore interests from top clubs and join French outfit FC Metz.
Mane started his career abroad with the Ligue 1 club, going on to become a legendary figure in his country, Senegal.
Diouf, who won the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, became the youngest player to make his debut for the Teranga Lions, coming on as a second-half substitute in the AFCON qualifier against Rwanda, at just 15 years and 94 days.

Al-Nassr star, Sadio Mane has returned home to join the Senegalese national team for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
The 31-year-old was met at the team hotel by fans of the Teranga Lions as the team began preparations ahead of Saturday's game.
The African champions have already sealed their spot at next year's tournament in Ivory Coast and will engage Rwanda in the final game of Group L, as reported by the BBC.
