Xavi Simons is already reaping the benefits of joining RB Leipzig following the Dutch midfielder’s superb start to life in the Bundesliga.

After rejoining former club Paris Saint-Germain from PSV Eindhoven this summer, the 20-year-old midfielder was sent on loan to the Bundesliga side to get playing time this season.

Xavi has now become a key figure for RB Leipzig after just three games for the German club after making five goal contributions in his first month at the Bundesliga side.

The Dutch midfielder was the star of the show against Union Berlin, giving RB Leipzig the lead as they went on to win with an impressive 3-0 victory against the Champions League contenders, BEIN SPORTS reports.

Simons has now bagged two goals and assisted three times in his first three Bundesliga appearances for RB Leipzig, outlining his importance to the German team’s ambitions this season.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig defeated Union Berlin 3-0 on Sunday with ease and ended their opponents' club-record home unbeaten streak by scoring three goals in a powerful second half performance, ESPN reports

After Xavi Simons had given them the lead in the 51st minute with an incredible drive, substitute Benjamin Sesko scored twice in the final two minutes of play.

At the Alte Foersterei stadium, it was Union's first home loss after 24 league games without a loss against a team that will also play in the Champions League group stage this year.

Simons opens Bundesliga account against Stuttgart

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Dutch youngster Xavi Simons scored his first Bundesliga goal on Friday as RB Leipzig came from behind to thrash Stuttgart 5-1.

Simons, who joined Leipzig on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in July, put the cherry on the cake with his side's fifth goal after coming on a substitute in the second half.

His cool finish capped off a thrilling second-half performance from Champions League qualifiers Leipzig, who shook off an early wobble to rout Stuttgart in the final half hour.
