Antoine Griezmann's way of settling the GOAT debate is unique, having used his plans to pick which player he is backing - and it is the World Cup winner.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi moved on from their previous clubs and are far apart where they play their football now - the Portuguese is in Saudi Arabia, while the Argentine is in the United States.
The Middle East has seen more stars move there since Ronaldo joined in January, mostly senior stars from the Premier League, with the top four clubs - Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad - stacked for the new season.
According to Reuters, Neymar joined Al-Hilal after they failed in their pursuit of Messi and Kylian Mbappe, with the Brazilian praising Ronaldo's influence on others joining him in the Middle East.
Griezmann weighs in on GOAT debate
Griezmann has admitted to following Messi in action in the MLS, where he has been in his usual dazzling form and has scored in every game.
The Frenchman made this known during a virtual press conference organised by La Liga on ESPN.
"Leo is the best in history. He's filling stadiums, he's scoring a lot of goals and he's winning games. He's incredible and I think it's the best thing MLS have done to bring in Leo, in terms of marketing and in terms of football."
Griezmann also praised Messi's influence and added that Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who joined their former captain there, improved the league.
The Atletico Madrid star also expressed his desire to play in the US league:
Messi names his favourite teammates throughout his career
Football"I've always said it. My target is to end up there, with everything that I like about American sports, playing in MLS and enjoying myself, being able to win things and be at my best level," he added.
However, the 2018 World Cup winner with France did not rule out moving to the Saudi Pro League and was honest that money would be his reason if he ever moved there.
