The Philadelphia Union forward gained a precious item on Tuesday night as he swapped shirts with Inter Miami star, Lionel Messi.
They made the exchange following the Herons’ 4-1 win in the Leagues Cup semifinal.
Messi and Carranza's Argentine connection
The Argentine stars talked briefly in the middle of the pitch as they made the shirt swap.
Joaquin Torres can also be seen in the video congratulating Messi after Inter Miami's win.
Messi's jersey swap tradition
Messi continued his tradition of swapping jerseys with fellow Argentine stars in the United States.
He earlier exchanged shirts with World Cup teammate Thiago Almada following Inter Miami's 4-0 win over Atlanta United last month.
The 36-year-old also swapped jerseys with promising Argentine youngster Alan Velasco following the Herons' thrilling penalty shootout win over FC Dallas.
Messi scores again vs Philadelphia
Messi once again found the back of the net in the win against Philadelphia, scoring a long-range stunner in the 20th minute to give Inter Miami a 2-0 lead.
He took a pass near midfield from Josef Martinez, who hit the ground hard after a challenge, per USA Today.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner found some space, firing a left-footed shot from distance into the bottom corner past Philly goalkeeper Andre Blake.
