Mount's unexpected move to United has sparked intrigue, but the acquisition of the 24-year-old represents a significant triumph for the Red Devils, who will aim to challenge their city rivals, Manchester City, across all competitions in the upcoming season.

Additionally, United revealed that Mount will proudly sport the iconic No. 7 shirt, previously worn by legends such as David Beckham, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, George Best, and Cristiano Ronaldo, GOAL reports.

Following his transfer, a resurfaced video from Mount's teenage days at Chelsea shows him emulating his idol, Ronaldo, during a free-kick practice session, further highlighting his admiration for the Portuguese star.

Mount imitates Ronaldo’s freekick

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best free-kick takers of all time and has scored some iconic ones. He has a distinct technique of standing elegantly over the ball before hitting.

Mount is a Ronaldo fanboy and spoke about how he modelled his freekick technique after Ronaldo from his days at Cobham Academy.

"I try to base my free-kicks on Ronaldo...hit the ball by the valve, and it moves," Mason said, as quoted by Timeline CR7.
