As noted by Soccer Laduma, Davids will serve as assistant coach to Josef Zinnbauer at Raja Casablanca. The duo have previously worked together at Orlando Pirates in South Africa and Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.

Not only will David be reunited with a former coach, but he will also be reunited with another South African, Haashim Domingo. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder recently signed for the Moroccan side.

Kadodia was disappointed by Davids

As noted by News24, Maritzburg chairperson Farook Kadodia admitted that Davids disappointed him after he heard that the former coach was in talks with Raja before parting ways with the Team of Choice.

“It’s disappointing, but we heard about talks with Raja Casablanca some 10 days ago, and this is while we were still fighting for survival before we eventually got relegated. But we wish coach Fadlu and his team all the best.”

Davids and his entire technical team were then released.

Maritzburg United chairperson felt betrayed

Farook Kadodia is not holding back regarding his assessment of the past season.

The Maritzburg United chairman isn't happy with the team's performance, even blaming some players for 'betraying the club.'

Maritzburg United competed in the DStv Premiership but finished 15th on the league table, Sports Brief reported.

Fadlu Davids departs Orlando Pirates

Former Maritzburg United striker and coach Fadlu Davids has been forced to walk the Orlando Pirates’ plank.

Davids was released by the side after he, and co-coach Mandla Ncikazi, failed to bring any silverware to the side.

Former Buccaneers’ players Tonic Chabalala and Edward Motale have opened up about the departure, saying they weren’t surprised, Sports Brief reported.
