A dyed-in-the-wool Lionel Messi fan demonstrated his unflinching support for the Argentine after his final game for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, June 3.
Messi, who joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2021, made his 75th and final appearance for the Parisians at the Parc des Princes, which ended in a 3-2 defeat to Clermont Foot.
Despite bagging two Ligue 1 titles and the French Super Cup during his time in Paris, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's two-year stint did not reach the heights expected of him, which was evidenced in their disappointing Champions League campaigns, per Le Monde.
The 35-year-old's exit, which was confirmed by the club on Saturday, has led to a shocking gesture from an avid fan.
What did PSG fan do?
The fan was spotted watching PSG's final game of the season against Clermont on his mobile device while taking a walk.
Following the conclusion of the match, the fan, initially dressed in a PSG shirt, made the decision to discard it, depositing it in a nearby bin.
To emphasize his unwavering allegiance to the 2022 World Cup winner, the fan also took to the popular photo-sharing platform, Instagram, where he unfollowed the Ligue 1 champions.
