Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Nigerian forward, Gift Orban, as a summer transfer option should they miss the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is reported to be the Red Devils' main target following his impressive outing this term helping Napoli to win the Scudetto after waiting for 33 years.

However, landing Osimhen this summer may be difficult for United considering how other big European clubs are also looking for the signature of the Super Eagles star.

United are looking for a reliable young striker who can help the team for many years and they see Osimhen fitting into that category.

According to reports on Pulse and Tribal Football, Man United are aware that Napoli may not sell Osimhen and they have put up Gift Orban as their plan B.

Why do Man United want Orban?

This season, Gift Orban has been impressive for Gent in the Belgian League where he has scored 19 goals in 19 games.

Sports Brief spoke with Nigerian journalist Bayour Issah on speculation linking Gift Orban with Man United as he gives his nod for the move.

Bayour Issah hails Gift Orban

''Gift Orban is a good player and moving to Manchester United will help his career, so I support the Red Devils to sign him because I don't think they can get Osimhen.''

Balotelli hangs out with Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Italian forward, Mario Balotelli met up with Victor Osimhen, following the Nigerian striker's league triumph with Napoli.

The Super Eagles star led Gli Azzurri to their first league title in 33 years, after scoring 23 goals in Serie A this season.

Osimhen had already spoken to the former Inter Milan striker via Instagram the day the title was won.

The duo finally met in Italy, after Balotelli returned home to watch the UEFA Champions League semi-final clash between his former clubs, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
