  • Real Madrid conducted a test on Eduardo Camavinga's injury on Sunday
  • The France international was subbed off with an injury after a challenge
  • Real Madrid play Manchester City this Wednesday at the Etihad

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is anticipated to be eligible to play against Manchester City after scans on Sunday revealed no major damage despite having to be withdrawn against Getafe.

The Frenchman was one of just three players to keep their spot in the starting lineup in a much-changed Real Madrid side for Saturday night's 1-0 win over Getafe.

There was real frustration from the home fans after the game, many of whom were disappointed to see Camavinga's fitness risked so close to the second leg against Pep Guadiola's side.

Ancelotti issues Camavinga injury update

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes Camavinga's injury was nothing serious, saying the France international will be available for selection against Man City.

"It's just a blow, and he will recover fast. Everyone should be ready to face Manchester City. Camavinga has a knock, but he should be fine. Yes, he had a small twist in his knee, but it's a blow, nothing more," Ancelotti reassured via Madrid XTRA.

Camavinga praises Benzema and Mendy

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Eduardo Camavinga has become one of Real Madrid’s best players in recent weeks, but the French midfielder has revealed the secret behind his success at the club.

The 20-year-old joined Los Blancos in 2021 and became an instant success in the Spanish capital, winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles in his first season.

According to Football Espana, Camavinga has now revealed that teammates, Karim Benzema and Ferlan Mendy helped him settle at Real Madrid when he first arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
