Victor Boniface has shared his excitement after ending his first Bundesliga season by winning the title after starring in the final game of the campaign.

The Super Eagles forward scored as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Augsburg to end the season unbeaten, becoming the first team to achieve the feat.

Earlier in the week, the Nigerian won the Rookie of the Year award following his impressive campaign with the new German champions.

Despite winning the league in April, the BayArena outfit were presented their medals and the trophy on the final day.

"Naija no dey carry last," wrote Boniface on X, which literally translates Nigerians only win.

Boniface's goal against Augsburg saw him end the campaign with 14 goals and 9 assists, per Transfermarkt.

The former Union Saint-Gilloise star and his teammates will now switch their attention to the DFB Pokal and Europa League finals. The German champions could end the campaign with an unprecedented treble.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen have now stretched their unbeaten run to 51 matches and could complete the entire campaign invincible if they win the last two trophies available.

Boniface ends Bundesliga campaign with goal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nigeria forward Victor Boniface completed his first Bundesliga campaign in style after scoring in Bayer Leverkusen's victory over Augsburg as the new German champions ended the season invincible.

Boniface opened the scoring as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Augsburg 2-1 at the BayArena to become the first team in the Bundesliga to go a whole season unbeaten.

It was the Super Eagles star's 14th goal of the campaign, wrapping up an incredible year with the club.

Leverkusen celebrate Rookie of the Year

Sports Brief also reported that German champions, Bayer Leverkusen reacted to Victor Boniface's Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award.

The Super Eagles star won the award for the best newcomer in the German topflight league after starring in Leverkusen's title-winning campaign.

Before suffering an injury in January, Boniface won the Rookie of the Month award four times in a row.
