  • Casemiro was genuinely surprised to see David De Gea hug a rival during the Europa League game on Thursday
  • Manchester United bottled two goals to draw 2-2 against the Spanish giants
  • The tie is now finely poised going into the second leg next week

Manchester United fans were left in stitches by Casemiro’s reaction to David de Dea embracing Ivan Rakitic prior to the Europa League clash with Sevilla.

The Red Devils made a fast start to the game as they went 2-0 up in the first half thanks to a brace from Marcel Sabitzer.

However, a terrible final 15 minutes for United saw Sevilla claw their way back into the game.

As reported on BBC, Tyrell Malacia diverted the ball into his own net from a cross by former Manchester City man Jesus Navas. There was time for yet another own goal later on as Youssef En-Nesyr’s header, which was going off target, struck Harry Maguire, to leave De Gea helpless.

Casemiro unimpressed by De Gea

While the draw was one of the major talking points from the game, fans had something to speak about prior to kick off and it all had to do with David De Gea.

Players typically lined up in the tunnel before kick-off, and De Gea was spotted hugging Rakitic, and Casemiro was in the frame. The Brazilian’s reaction was interesting as he almost looked bored by the sight.

It was no surprise Casemiro is not a fan of Rakitic, especially because the two treated fans to an iconic rivalry in the El Classico several years ago.

The Brazilian is also known for his professionalism and commitment to the cause, and this could explain why he was not impressed by De Gea embracing a rival standing in the way of United and the Europa League semi-finals.

Man United fans slam Ten Hag

Sports Brief also reported on how Manchester United fans slammed Erik Ten Hag after the 2-2 draw against Sevilla.

The result means there will be everything to play for when the two teams face off in the second leg at Sevilla's very own Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium next week.

Fans spared some time to take stock of the happenings at Old Trafford that had seen United move from having one foot in the semis to planning for their survival ahead of the return leg.

Some were of the opinion the substitutions Ten Hag made proved costly in the game.
