AFCON 2023 U20: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Beat Uganda in Quarterfinal

Nigerian football fraternities were on Thursday evening, 2 March, thrown into wide jubilation after the Flying Eagles defeated Uganda 1-0 in the quarter-final of the 2022 Under 20 AFCON.

Going into this encounter, these two teams were aware of the importance of recording a win, but it was the Flying Eagles who got the victory even though it was a lucky one.

They have now qualified for the semi-final of the competition and also picked the ticket for the 2023 FIFA Under 20 World Cup which is massive.

Before the start of the tournament, Ladan Bosso and his wards were given the mandate to pick the World Cup ticket, and they have now delivered it to the Nigerian Football Federation.

Ibrahim Juma's own goal in the 30th minute was all the Flying Eagles of Nigeria needed to seal the win over Uganda.

Sports Brief spoke with Nigerian reporter Adepoju Tobi Samuel on the performance of the Flying Eagles, and he gave kudos to Bosso and his wards.

Osimhen was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, after doctors determined he had suffered multiple fractures to his cheekbone and orbital bone.
