The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo welcomed the family of Christian Atsu to the Jubilee House on February 27 following the death of the player.
Atsu died after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit the region of Hatay, Turkey and part of Syria on February 6.
The death of the player has left Ghanaians and the footballing world in the state of mourning.
The family of Atsu, accompanied by the boss of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, paid a courtesy call to Akufo-Addo.

The President paid tribute to the player and pledged the state would support the family in bidding their son and brother a final farewell.
“On Monday, 27th February 2023, the family of the Christian Atsu paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House to inform me officially of his death," Akufo-Addo posted via his official Facebook account.
Ghana's first citizen extended condolences to the family and the football fraternity on behalf of the government and the people of the country.
“[I] assured them of Government's support for the funeral. We can never erase the loss of this very brilliant man,” he added.
There will be a celebration of life for Atsu on March 4 in Accra.

FootballThe government, family, friends, and former footballers were all at the Kotoko International Airport to receive the body ahead of the final burial rites.
In emotional scenes at the airport, many struggled to hold back tears while others wailed openly as the body was brought out of a Turkish Airlines plane.
Atsu's son wins first trophy

The eldest son of the late winger, Joshua has won his first trophy and shows signs that he inherited his father's talent.
In a photo shared on social media by Atsu's widow, Marie-Claire Rupio, their son celebrates his success with a trophy.
