  • Arsenal is moving on to another target after Chelsea hijacked their move for Mykhailo Mudryk.
  • The Gunners spent weeks in negation with Shakhtar Donetsk before their rivals moved quickly.
  • They have now turned to embattled Leandro Trossard who wants to leave Brighton.

Arsenal missed out on their priority summer signing, Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk despite courting the player for months and being ready to pay the club's valuation of £88m for the player.

They were usurped by their London rivals Chelsea who moved quickly last Saturday and completed the move, offering better payment structure to Shakhtar Donetsk and also offering the player better personal terms.

In another development revealed by Sports Mole, Tottenham aimed to take advantage of the situation and made a verbal proposal of £12m to the Seagulls which they rejected.

As revealed by reliable transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Arsenal is in talks with Brighton for the transfer of the 27-year-old and have already agreed personal terms with him.

Arsenal said no to Mudryk's question

Sports Brief earlier reported that Arsenal failed Mudryk's important question before he agreed to move to rivals Chelsea in a quick turn of events on Saturday.

The player reportedly asked Mikel Arteta's team to match Chelsea's offer, but the Gunners were unwilling to, which switched the player's mind to a move to Stamford Bridge

This was further clarified by Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin, who claimed the bid were the same value, but the structure of payment and reality of add-ons differ.

Arteta break silence on Mudryk

Sports Brief also reported that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta spoke on losing out to Chelsea on Mudryk after their 2-0 North London derby win over Tottenham.

He claimed to be happy with the players he has, and admits they need to make reinforcements but they have to be careful and make sure it's the right signing.

Gunners fans are refusing to let go of the incident and have been taking jibes at the player online.
