French Club Troyes Announce Signing of Ghanaian Teen Henry Oware

French Ligue 1 side, ES Troyes AC have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Henry Oware in the winter transfer window.

The 18-year-old joins Troyes on a three-year deal from West Africa Football Academy.

Oware will start off with the Troyes B side before warming his way into the first team of the French outfit.

Troyes confirmed the signing of the versatile defender on their official website after he successfully passed his medical.

"ESTAC is pleased to announce the signing of the first professional contracts of Tarek Issaoui and Henry Oware. The two defenders are now engaged with the Trojan club until June 30, 2026. The whole club wishes them a lot of success in Blue & White!," wrote the club.
Trained at ESTAC, Tarek Issaoui joined the Trojan training center in 2019. Henry Oware arrives from the West African Football Academy (Ghana), where he was able to show the extent of his qualities," added Troyes.

Oware has been an important player for WAFA since joining the club last season, making 19 Ghana Premier League appearances before they were demoted to the first division.

English clubs interested in Gideon Mensah

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in the services of Ghana defender Gideon Mensah.

The Auxerre left-back has been in the radar of both clubs following an impressive outing at the World Cup in Qatar.

Mensah sealed a permanent move to Auxerre in the summer after a successful loan spell with Girondins Bordeaux.

Blessing joins New England Revolution

Ghanaian midfielder, Latif Blessing has left Los Angeles FC to join New England Revolution, just two months after winning the Major League Soccer championship with the California-based club.

Blessing played a key role in the success of LAFC last term, despite missing most of the post-season.

The former Liberty Professionals player leaves LAFC as the player with the most appearances for the MLS franchise, having played 145 games for the club.
