Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva has admitted he is keen on starting a new project away from England.

Silva, who joined The Citizens from Monaco in 2017, has been a revelation under Pep Guardiola and an integral part of the club’s success.

Over the summer, he was heavily linked to a Barcelona move, but nothing materialised, with his latest sentiments to put other big clubs on high alert ahead of the summer transfer window.

"I’m very focused on this season and it doesn’t make sense to talk about leaving, because we’re in the middle of the season," the midfielder told Record.

Silva explained he would be 29 in the summer and had two more years on his contract with Man City, at which time he would be 31 years old.

"Going to a new project at 29, I’ll only finish this contract probably at 34."

Another club that was tracking the Portuguese last summer was Paris Saint-Germain, but he eventually decided to remain at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City are known for not standing in the way of players who want to leave the club, provided the right offer comes along.

Silva reveals his preferred destination

In the same interview, Silva also hinted at the club he would likely seek to join - his boyhood team Benfica.

"If you ask me: what did you think 10 years ago? My goal was to return to Benfica at 32 at most. What do I think today? It depends on next summer,” he added.

Benfica fans tell off Fernandes

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on how Enzo Fernandes was told off by Benfica fans after his antics post-Qatar.

One of the sensations at the 2022 World Cup, Fernandes angered the club's supporters after he was sighted partying in Argentina on New Year's Eve.

His actions invariably meant he missed the team's training sessions amid links to Premier League club Chelsea, on the back of his sterling performance at the global showpiece.
