There is a clause in Cristiano Ronaldo's new contract at Al Nassr which means that he could play in the Champions League again before his career comes to an end.

Ronaldo completed his switch to the Saudi Arabian giants last week after reportedly signing a two-year deal that will make him earn as much as £175m a year.

The 37-year-old is expected to be officially presented to the club's fans in a lavish ceremony on Tuesday, January 3.

Marca claims that Ronaldo's Al Nassr contract has a clause that would allow him to join Premier League side Newcastle on loan if they qualify for the Champions League.

The Spanish media outlet further states that Ronaldo's return to Europe could be on the cards simply because of Al-Nassr's link with Newcastle. Both clubs are owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

According to the Sun, Newcastle United is currently the richest club in the world following their £300m takeover in 2021.

And it means they are now able to afford a player with the star power of Ronaldo.

Ronaldo completed a two-year deal with the Saudi Professional League side just before the turn of the year, bringing an end to speculations surrounding his future.

According to a post by Al Nassr on Twitter, the star will be unveiled on Tuesday at the club's home venue, Mrsool Park, in a ceremony which begins at 16:00 hours GMT.

Fans excited about Ronaldo-Aboubakar combo

Sports Brief earlier reported that African football fans will have added interest in the fortunes of Cristiano Ronaldo out in Saudi Arabia.

He became the biggest football expert in the Saudi Pro League after Al-Nassr unveiled him last week. This will see him partnering with new Cameroonian superstar Vincent Aboubakar.

Aboubakar became a global household name after his performances for the Indomitable Lions at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations as well as the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The duo's anticipated exploits have excited the football world, positively and negatively.
